Plushenko out of NRW Trophy

Current European champion Evgeni Plushenko has pulled out of next month’s NRW Trophy in Dortmund, Germany, to give himself more time to recover from an operation.
Evegeni’s only competitive appearance this season came at the Japan Open last month (where he placed 4th out of six skaters), shortly before he was operated upon for unspecified reasons.

“Zhenya won’t compete in Dortmund,” Mishin said. “His recovery period has just finished. We’ve only just had our third training session after he wasn’t able to skate for 10 days after the operation under anaesthetic.”

Mishin added that Plushenko would now look for an event to compete in before the Russian championships start December 25. He plans to defend his Russian and European titles but intends to miss again the world championships.

  2. Hi Michael! Thanks for your kindness. I've done a quick research and unluckly I did not find anything... But I'll keep my ears open! If I found a stream I'll post it here.
In case it wont be broadcasted, you can watch the programs on the NRW official Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/NRWTrophy It's not like watching the competition live, I know, but better than nothing...
