Announcement of International Competitions 2012/2013


On the 15 of May the ISU announced the schedule for next season. Here you can read a summary and below you can see the full communication.

The Europeans will be held in Zagreb (Croatia) from 11 to 27 January 2013, the Four Continents in Osaka (Japan) from 6 to 11 February, the World Championships in London (Canada) March 10 to 17, the World Team Trophy in Tokyo (Japan) from 11 to 14 April.
The Junior World Championships will be held in Milan from February 25 to March 3.

The Grand Prix begins with Skate America in Seattle/Kent (19-21 October) to continue with Skate Canada in Windsor (26-28 October), Cup of China in Shanghai (2-4 November), Rostelecom Cup in Moscow (9-11 November), Trophée Bompard in Paris (16-18 November) and NHK in Sendai (23-25 ​​November). Conclusion in Sochi, 5 to 9 December.

In August in Taipei City, there is the 2012 ASU Asian Figure Skating Trophy, for Ladies and Men only.

A new entry is the Ice Stars, to be held in Minsk, in Belarus, from 8 to 10 September, for all categories Senior, Junior and Novice.
Another new entry, the U.S. Senior International, from 13 to 16 September , in Salt Lake City, only for the Senior category. It will be the first international competition, outside the ISU Championships and Grand Prix, held on U.S. territory.

News for Italy: no more Mont Blanc Trophy, which was canceled last season and will be replaced with the First City of Turin Trophy, from 21 to 24 February, for Senior and Junior, without pairs, and Novice, without pairs and dance couples. For now it should overlap with the Challenge Cup.

  1. Davvero un gran bel programma !
    Da Ottobre si ricominceranno a seguire tutte le competizioni e sarà un anno davvero interessante - aspettando Sochi - già da Ottobre potremo vedere un'annata particolarmente interesante.
    Con il ritorno per la stagione intera di Plushenko e il ritorno di Weir alle competizioni

  2. Strano che Plushenko non sia presente nelle assegnazioni del GP. Spero che sia tra gli atleti TBA.
    Non vedo l'ora di avere informazioni in più anche sul nuovo City of Turin Trophy! Mi dispiacerebbe però se lasciano coincidere le date con quelle della Challenge Cup, costringendo così gli atleti a scegliere tra le due competizioni...
